Challenges in evaluating neurological patients in the era of Telemedicine
Telemedicine offers multiple advantages to bothpractitioners and patients with chronic diseases, includingParkinson’s disease, Alzheimer's disease, and multiplesclerosis. There is an insufficient number of neurologistsproviding routine follow-up care for such individuals, andsuch complex cases require specialist attention. With theCOVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine in neurology has beenmore widely implemented. Convenience and safety mayoutweigh the limitations for most, including impaireddiagnostic accuracy for specific symptoms, limited use oftelemedicine in the first week of illness for newly diagnosedpatients, and impracticality for patients in nursinghomes .
