A Novel Vibration Suppression Approach of Multi-Mode Flexible Systems Using Principle of Vibration Superposition

In this report, we introduce a novel vibration control method for multi-mode flexible systems. By employing the superposition principle in modal space, the vibration states of classical multi-mode flexible systems have been analyzed within each control interval. Through minimizing vibration energy, we derive selection methods for vibration suppression displacements. In order to realize positioning of the system, a position correction controller is given to compensate input errors. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method, we examine a three-input-three-mode mass-spring-damping system. It is demonstrated that the approach is able to realize positioning and achieve signification reduction in system vibration with 40% model errors. In the experiment section, the proposed method is verified on a multi-arm construction machinery.
