Geometric Modeling and Algorithmic Simulation in Multibeam Echosounder (MBES) Systems
Addressing the limitations of traditional seabed bathymetry technology in accuracy and efficiency, this study investigates the geometric principles of multibeam bathymetry with two different degrees of freedom to meet the needs of 2D and 3D seabed scenes, respectively. Programming simulations demonstrate a positive proportional relationship between the coverage width of the multibeam bathymetry technique and seawater depth. Additionally, results indicate that coverage width gradually increases with distance from the center of the seawater and is more significantly affected by changes in the angle of the measurement line. This study offers insights into improving the accuracy and efficiency of seafloor mapping through multibeam bathymetric methods.
