Hydrogen Production Adaptive Control Method in Wind-Solar Combined DC Microgrid with Energy Storage Active Power Filter
The existing DC microgrid has inadequate absorption capacity for high proportion of renewable energy generation, which causes a large consumption of wind and photovoltaic power in the local grid. To tackle this challenge, a hydrogen production adaptive control (HPAC) method is proposed for improving the stability of remaining energy hydrogen production for enhancing the efficient use of renewable energy. The main content of HPAC method includes: 1) A wind-solar-storage combined power system with hydrogen production is established, which greatly improved the consumption capacity of renewable energy; 2) A adaptive hydrogen production control strategy is proposed, which can stably operate in various scenarios, including power supply sufficient (PSS) scenario, power supply insufficient (PSI) scenario, and hydrogen storage full (HSF) scenario; 3) An energy storage active power filter (ESAPF) solution is conducted, which achieves harmonic suppression for extending electrolyzers life while reducing the investment cost of filter unit. Extensive test results under various working scenarios are illustrated for verifying the correctness of proposed HPAC method.
