FOREST: Future-Oriented AI Systems for Enhancing Plant Health Monitoring and Sustainable Treatments in Precision Agriculture

The growing need for sustainable agricultural prac-tices and the threat of pests, plant diseases, and weeds to global food security drive the need for integrating advanced technologies to ensure plant health and productivity. This paper explores the potential of AI-driven applications in precision agriculture, focusing on early detection, plant care, and sustainable treatment. By analyzing recent advancements and methodologies, we propose a comprehensive framework for implementing AI systems in agriculture, called FOREST: Future-Oriented AI Systems for Enhancing Plant Health Monitoring and Sustainable Treatments in Precision Agriculture. This framework includes data collection, AI model development, robotic systems deployment, and natural language based multimodal AI chatbot for farmer interaction. Through the examination of existing research, case studies, and potential applications, we outline a roadmap for future-oriented AI systems that enhance plant health monitoring and support sustainable agricultural practices.
