¿Qué es propiamente la teología? Reflexión sobre el discurso del cardenal Joseph Ratzinger en la Universidad de Navarra
Joseph Ratzinger gave a conference at the University of Navarra, on January 31, 1998, in which he addressed, from a new and disturbing perspective, the question about the condition of theological science. His thesis was that both speculative reason and historical course constitute interior and necessary moments of theological work. In this way he challenged the views of Adolf von Harnack. He warned, however, of the risk that both could devastate the Word and, with it, theology. He appealed, as a guarantee of security, to the special assistance of the Holy Spirit to his Church, because the ecclesiastical authority could also err in his work and could manifest itself arbitrarily.
