A 9-year-old boy presented with fever, vomiting and respiratory distress. He was diagnosed with left pleural effusion and reduced lung capacity, confirmed by ultrasound and CT. Treatment included rehydration, oxygen and antibiotics. Cultures revealed Streptococcus pyogenes. The case highlights the rise in invasive GAS infections, especially post-COVID-19.
