Cancer prevention over the life course
Abstract Within a life course epidemiology framework, the etiology and prevention of cancer are informed at different ages from a social, behavioral, and biological perspective (1). Due to population aging, the burden of cancer increases and calls for new cancer prevention and screening strategies. In this introduction, we will discuss the issues of cancer screening among older adults and inequalities in screening uptake, and how vulnerable population preventive strategies can reduce these health inequities.
