Mihai Eminescu’s poetry from an archetypal perspective
In this article, the aesthetic orientation of the poet Mihai Eminescu towards national mythology is revealed, capable of contributing to the knowledge of the original roots of the nation, in order to reconstruct a heart of autochthonous spirituality in its archetypal dimensions. The four myths, about which George Călinescu speaks so inspired in his monumental “History of Romanian literature” from the origins to the present, determine “the mythological starting point” which can be found in several Eminescu’s writings, as proof of the genius of the writer, of its ability to reconstruct a hearth of autochthonous spirituality from a new aesthetic perspective, of certain philosophical, epistemological, archetypal levels. Eminescu showed the readiness to reconstruct a mythology, which expresses the fundamental sprigs of his artistic creation, deepens the archetypal outline of a seared space of values intercepted in the dimensions art.
