PERFIL EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DE PACIENTES DIAGNOSTICADOS COM CÂNCER DE PRÓSTATA NO BRASIL
Objectives: to analyze the epidemiological profile of patients diagnosed with prostate câncer in Brazil from 2013 to 2023, quantifying the cases, identifying the most used treatment and the average treatment time and comparing the different regions of the country. Methods: epidemiological, quantitative study of exploratory, descriptive and retrospective nature. Data collection was carried out by the Painel Oncologia Brasil – DATASUS, selecting the following variables: region of diagnosis, age, year of treatment and type of treatment, from 2013 to 2023. Results: the region with the highest number of diagnosed cases was the Southeast, followed by the Northeast. The highest concentration of patients is in the age group between 60 and 69 years old. There were more diagnoses in 2017 and 2018. The most adopted therapeutic modality was chemotherapy. Conclusion: advanced age is a risk fator to developing prostate câncer. The Southest and Northest regions concentrate the largest number of cases. The therapeutic modality chosen depends on the individuality of each patient. Many diagnosed cases are possibly not registrated.
