UTILIZAÇÃO DE SACUBITRIL PARA O TRATAMENTO DE INSUFICIENCIA CARDIACA COM FRAÇÃO DE EJEÇÃO REDUZIDA

The development of heart failure occurs initially due to heart injury, whether chronic or acute. The high rate of morbidity and mortality and hospitalization of heart failure has become a concern over the last few years in view of the challenge of its therapeutic management. The inclusion of sacubitril/valsartan in the treatment protocol of the disease was an achievement for a good prognosis of the disease and has shown good results in reducing the hospitalization rate. The objective is to make a narrative and integrative review of the impact of the use of Sacubitril/valsartan in reducing the hospitalization rate of patients with Heart Failure. This is a narrative and integrative review carried out in the Pubmed/Medline, Google Scholar, Lilacs and SciELO databases. Knowledge of the pathophysiology of HF has become essential for the development of strategies for the pharmacotherapy of the disease. the recommended pharmacotherapy has been expanded to include four types of basic medications, also referred to as quadruple therapy for HFrEF. Among them, the Neprilysin Inhibitor and the Angiotensin II receptor, Sacubitril/valsartan. Although the PARADIGM-HF study showed a benefit of the use of sacubitril/valsartan over enalapril, studies with a larger population scope in relation to the degree of more severe symptoms (NYHA class IV) and with more representative samples of different ethnicities are still needed to evaluate the therapeutic response in a mixed population such as that of Brazil
