Abstract

Image encryption is a vital area in our current digital age, playing an important role in protecting information and improving data quality.Encryption protects privacy and enhances security in various applications, such as communications, cloud storage, and digital transmission. As the size and complexity of images increase, the importance of using parallel methods in image processing and encryption becomes more prominent. These methods allow exploiting the multiple processing capabilities available in modern devices, such as multi-core processors, which enhance efficiency and speed in processing large data sets.inthis paper, we present a modified Blowfish algorithm and a hybrid parallel approach to overcome the known weaknesses of the traditional Blowfish algorithm.First, we use a Pascal matrix to permuting the image pixels, and the results of this operation are used as input to the modified version of the Blowfish algorithm. In this version, the P matrix is modified using a hybrid chaos approach, which improves the encryption process.Furthermore, this encryption is implemented using a hybrid parallel processing approach, which enhances the performance and efficiency of data processing.Tests and Result are shown using test images (256*256) from the USC-SIPI and CVG-UGR databases.were quicker outcomes and more secure encryption. In addition, the average execution time of encryption and decryption reached (0.00618ms, 0.003292 ms) the information entropy screening rate reached 7.99735, which is close to the optimal ratio of 8. and NPCR and UACI reached (99.639, 33.42825).The algorithm has achieved a high level of security.
