Effect of Corrosion on Electromagnetic Reliability for the High-Voltage Shield Cable of Electrification Vehicles
High-voltage cables are the power transfer path between high-voltage components, but they are also the transmission path for electromagnetic noise. These cables are mounted on the exterior of the vehicle and are prone to corrosion. When high-voltage cables corrode, the electrical properties of the metal shielding layer change, which can affect the shielding performance of the cable. In this paper, we observe the changes in the electrical properties of the cable when the metal-braided shielding layer of the cable is corroded, and analyze the shielding performance of the cable based on international standards. In addition, the electromagnetic radiation emission test of high-voltage components with corroded cables is conducted to analyze the impact on electromagnetic noise emission. As a result, we experimentally verify the importance of electromagnetic reliability (EMR) of vehicle components through shielding systems such as high-voltage cables.
