Improvement Method Using Complex Baseband Signals Against False Detection Caused by Electromagnetic Noise in FMCW Radar
A Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar with fast-chirp can identify multi-target. In this radar, the beat frequency for calculating distance is in the MHz bands. So, for this FMCW radar it is required an ADC (Analog to Digital converter) with several ten MHz sampling frequency. On the other hands, WPT (Wireless Power Transfer) system for electronics devices are used in the MHz band. When the leakage power of these devices is applied to the ADC as electromagnetic noise, the noise signal would cause a false detection. We proposed a novel method using complex baseband signals and the latter half data after range fast Fourier transform to improve false detection. The effectiveness of the proposed method was confirmed by simulation results.
