Recent Advances in Modelling & Evaluation of Filament-Loaded Concrete for Facilities Shielding
Recent progress in Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) are described, mainly the absorption and reflection shielding factors. RF power attenuation is a predictable function of loaded concrete thickness, type and size of fibers, combined with a metal mesh that complement the concrete for providing low frequency shielding. This solution, achieving more than 50 dB shielding across the whole $10 \mathrm{MHz}-10 \mathrm{GHz}$ span, is competing with the traditional method of erecting Faraday cages inside a building.
