Interference Evaluation on Software Defined Radio Links using the Amplitude Probability Distribution
In this study, Universal Software Radio Peripherals are employed to set configurable wireless radio links in the presence of intentionally generated electromagnetic disturbances. The receiving end of the radio link is used to measure the interfered demodulated signal. The amplitude probability distribution of the receiver output is calculated using a generalized formulation. The measurements have been validated and adjusted using an oscilloscope-based time-domain electromagnetic emissions measurement system with calibrated and compliant characteristics. The results showed that the Software Defined Radio devices could be used to perform probability distribution measurements, obtaining coherent and accurate results with respect to the amplitude and the respective probabilities for the type of disturbance applied in each case.
