Testing Accelerometers on Centrifuge Using Rate Table AC1120Si and Temperature Chamber

This article deals with accelerometers, one of the main components of Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs). Accelerometers in inertial measurement units are used together with gyroscopes, magnetometers, but also barometric and temperature sensors. Depending on their operating principle, accelerometers can be described using various mathematical models that define their basic parameters determining their transfer functions. In this article, a theoretical analysis of the use of the four-position and multi-position tests for testing accelerometers is performed. Next, the article deals with selected mathematical models of accelerometers, the design of an experiment for testing the ADXL326 accelerometer on a centrifuge, where rate table AC1120Si with temperature chamber VT7004) are used. The article proposes an experiment for testing the accelerometer in the entire dynamic range with the calculation of its basic parameters such as accelerometer offset, scale factor, determining the asymmetry of the transfer function and others. The main contribution of the article is the preparation of an experiment for testing an accelerometer using centrifugal acceleration, a mathematical description of the calculation of the parameters of the ADXL326 accelerometer model, and an evaluation of the contribution of individual methods of testing accelerometers.
