Monte Carlo Uncertainty Tensorial-Analysis-ofNetworks of EMI Filter with Lumped Component Parasitic Effect Variability

A multi-parameter uncertainty analysis (UA) of common-mode (CM) EMI filter is introduced. After brief theoretical description, based on the Kron method, the tensorial-analysis-of-networks (TAN) modelling of the lumped EMI filter is established. The TAN model is validated by simulation with commonly used simulation tool. The influence of each constituting component parameter on the cut-off frequency, the insertion loss and rejection are investigated in the standard EMC compliance test band $150 \mathrm{kHz}-30 \mathrm{MHz}$. The dominant parameters with $+/-5 \%$ relative variation with inputs are identified from parametric AC simulations. Then, further MonteCarlo (MC) UA with 1,000 trials is run. The multi-parameter UAs of the EMI filter proof-of-concept with TAN model are discussed by using the MC. It was found how sensitive is the filter with the multi-parameter LC-component inaccuracy.
