The Establishment and Development of the Military and Criminal Legal Framework of the Russian State in the Period from the 16th to the 17th Century

Every year we see positive, deep and fundamental transformations being carried out in the Russian Armed Forces, which are reflected not only in the organizational structure, but also in increasing their effectiveness. Currently, the leadership of our country is paying increased attention to a thorough study and careful analysis of the issues of modernizing military potential and strengthening the defense capability of the state. Also, the problems of material and technical equipment, recruitment, as well as compliance with military discipline in the army and navy do not go unnoticed. It is for this reason that today military criminal law is of particular interest to experts and specialists, mainly in view of the special significance and importance of this institution for the development of the defense capability of the state. Studying the genesis of the Russian military criminal course and the strategy aimed at minimizing criminal manifestations in the Russian army will allow us to trace the formation, development, as well as the implementation of pre-revolutionary military criminal legislation that took place in the conditions of the 16th–17th centuries. Consideration and comprehension of historical events related to the implementation of the state course aimed at strengthening law and order and combating illegal manifestations in the military environment, carried out taking into account the analysis of historical materials, will contribute to the further strengthening of the state foundations in the field of military discipline and the conduct of subsequent scientific research in the area under consideration.

Abstract

Every year we see positive, deep and fundamental transformations being carried out in the Russian Armed Forces, which are reflected not only in the organizational structure, but also in increasing their effectiveness. Currently, the leadership of our country is paying increased attention to a thorough study and careful analysis of the issues of modernizing military potential and strengthening the defense capability of the state.
