Linear stabilization for a degenerate and singular wave equations

In this paper, we investigate the linear boundary stabilization of a degenerate and singular wave equation where degeneracy and singularity occur at a part of the boundary. Utilizing semigroup theory, we analyze the well-posedness of the system. Then we show that the system can achieve exponential stability under a given boundary feedback condition through the multiplier method and suitable estimation.

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the linear boundary stabilization of a degenerate and singular wave equation where degeneracy and singularity occur at a part of the boundary. Utilizing semigroup theory, we analyze the well-posedness of the system. Then we show that the system can achieve exponential stability under a given boundary feedback condition through the multiplier method and suitable estimation.
