Quantitative Analysis of Sustainable Urbanization

This research project investigates the intricate balance between real estate development, economic growth, and environmental sustainability in Istanbul, a rapidly urbanizing metropolis. As urban expansion accelerates, the challenge of maintaining sustainable urban ecosystems becomes more critical. Using quantitative analysis and econometric modeling, this study evaluates the impact of real estate development on Istanbul’s environmental health, focusing on key indicators such as land use, air quality, and the availability of green spaces. The research explores market dynamics, policy interventions, and their effectiveness in promoting sustainable growth within the city’s real estate sector. By analyzing data from municipal records, environmental reports, and economic development indices, the project provides empirical insights into how urbanization pressures can be mitigated through well-designed policies. The findings of this research aim to contribute to the discourse on sustainable urbanization, offering actionable recommendations for balancing economic growth with environmental preservation. Conducted in collaboration with Istanbul University and the Education for Sustainable Innovation Foundation, the study addresses the urgent need for integrated urban planning approaches that prioritize long-term environmental sustainability amidst rapid real estate development.
