The Writer and Time in the Russian Book: the Legacy of A.S. Pushkin at the Conference of the Russian State Library
Russian Russian State Library hosted a scientific conference “The writer and time in the Russian book of the late 18 — early 19 century”, dedicated to three significant anniversaries of Russian classics: the 225th anniversary of the birth of A.S. Pushkin, the 275th anniversary of the birth of A.N. Radishchev, the 210th anniversary of the birth of M.Yu. Lermontov. The event was organized by the Scientific Research Department of Rare Books (Book Museum) of the Russian State Library. Experts from federal and regional libraries, museums and universities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, and Yalta took part in the conference as speakers. The key topics were the personality of A.S. Pushkin and book collections, which, according to a long-standing bibliographic tradition, are called Pushkiniana. A wide range of issues on the theory and practice of bibliography, library science and bibliology were considered; among the main directions — the history of the formation of book collections; participation and factual data of biographies of cultural figures associated with book collections, curators and collectors; the study of integral collections and individual copies of monuments; disclosure of library and museum collections.
