IMPORTÂNCIA DA ZONA DE TRANSFORMAÇÃO (ZT) E DA JUNÇÃO ESCAMO-COLUNAR (JEC) NO RASTREAMENTO PRECOCE DO CÂNCER DE COLO DE ÚTERO (CCU): UMA BREVE REVISÃO NARRATIVA DA LITERATURA
Cervical cancer (CCU) is a significant public health problem, with high incidence and mortality rates, especially in developing countries, where access to screening and treatment programs is limited. This cancer is often associated with persistent infection by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The Transformation Zone (ZT) and the Scamo-Colunar Junction (JEC) are anatomical areas of the cervix that play an important role in cervical health and in the detection of precursor lesions of the CCU, thus making the representativeness of these areas related to the quality of the cytological sample and diagnostic effectiveness. The objective of this research is to review the literature in articles and books on the relevance of ZT and JEC in the context of CCU tracking, identifying possible failures that can be justified and remedied. The results of the study suggest that the detection of relevant cytological changes is directly related to the adequate representativeness of TZ and JEC, requiring the creation of collection protocols and internal training.
