A SUPLEMENTAÇÃO DE ÔMEGA 3 PARA CRIANÇAS E ADOLESCENTES
In this work, we seek to build a literature review, based on the last 10 years, about the contributions of supplementation with Omega 3 to the health and cognition of children and adolescents. Through the research, it is noticed a positive relationship between Omega 3 supplementation and child health. In particular, therapeutic potential is observed in children with depressive conditions, with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and those who are autistic. In addition, Omega 3 prevents inflammatory diseases, cancer, cardiovascular problems and chronic diseases. Polyunsaturated fatty acids influence cellular signaling pathways and have the potential to modulate inflammatory processes in the body, reducing the synthesis of inflammatory mediators that lead to the degradation of arachidonic acid. Its consumption should be started by pregnant women, as it brings benefits to the formation of the human organism, protecting the cardiovascular health, brain health and visual system of the fetus, also preventing postpartum depression.
