IoT-Powered Farmland Monitoring System with Voice Integration
The rise of automation and IoT has led to people involving smart devices in all parts of life. It has also allowed businesses and industries to implement automated processes to streamline their tasks and increase efficiency which helps reduce costs and enhance safety. This research study proposes an affordable IoT based system for agricultural monitoring in rural households using the ESP8266 Node-MCU microcontroller. This system is triggered by multilingual voice commands which include an array of regional Indian languages using Google assistant in conjunction with IFTTT (If This then That) and the IoT platform Blynk. This system monitors environmental and agricultural factors such as humidity, air temperature, and presence of intruders and soil moisture which is displayed on the user’s mobile device through the Blynk application. These functionalities are able to be implemented due the Wi-Fi capabilities of the ESP8266 Node-MCU.
