Research on Virtual Synchronous Control of MMC-HVDC Inverter Based on Model Predictive Control
The receiving-end converter of MMC-HVDC using virtual synchronous control has the problems of slow dynamic response and complex parameter setting. To resolve it, a model predictive control (MPC) based MMC virtual synchronous control method is proposed, which has a faster active dynamic response support during the frequency disturbance of the power system. Finally, the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed control method is validated by simulations. This paper provides a new solution to further improve the transient response performance of MMC under the power system with a high proportion of new energy.
