MMC-PET-based Integrated Control Strategy for AC-DC Distribution Networks
To enhance the electrical power quality within the context of an intelligent distribution network, a proposed architecture for a DC microgrid, centered around a modular multilevel converter-based power electronic transformer, along with its comprehensive control methodology, aims to streamline the integration process of distributed energy sources into the grid. A simulation model for an AC-DC distribution system, leveraging the MMC-PET (Modular Multilevel Converter-based Power Electronic Transformer) technology, has been constructed utilizing the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation environment. The findings indicate a substantial enhancement in the adaptability capabilities of integrating new energy sources, attributable to the employed methodology, has faster dynamic response speed and stronger robustness, and the capacity to significantly enhance the electrical quality within smart distribution networks is demonstrated.
