A Cascaded H-Bridge Energy Storage Sub-module Test Platform and Control Method

A test platform and control method for cascaded H-bridge energy storage sub-modules are proposed to meet the power four quadrant operation characteristics required by the test platform, as well as the testing conditions for the battery's second harmonic ripple tolerance. In this method, the AC outputs of the two tested energy storage sub-modules are connected by power inductance. The active and reactive power exchanged between the modules are controlled by adjusting the phase angle and amplitude of the output voltage of the two sub-modules, so that the power can operate in four quadrants and simulate the actual operating conditions of the energy storage sub-modules to the greatest extent possible. At the same time, the tested energy storage sub-module comes with a built-in battery, which can simulate different second harmonic current environments by adjusting the type of adapter circuit and device parameters, facilitating the testing of the battery's ripple tolerance ability. The simulation analysis and experimental results of actual engineering physical prototypes have verified the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
