Typical Fault Analysis of SF6 Gas Insulated Metal Enclosed Circuit Breaker Compartment
An analysis is conducted on typical faults in the circuit breaker compartment of a 750 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) at a substation, proposing an analytical method and process applicable to fault situations in the circuit breaker compartment of 750 kV GIS equipment. Firstly, the fault chamber is located using infrared temperature measurement and SF6 gas decomposition product analysis. Subsequently, the observation hole cover is opened on-site to conduct preliminary analysis of the fault cause. Next, the faulty chamber's components are dismantled and inspected at the factory, employing test methods such as metal composition analysis and phase analysis to confirm the cause of the fault and further analyze the accident's cause. Finally, based on the internal conditions of the faulty chamber and test results, the accurate cause is determined, providing effective reference for the operation and maintenance of the circuit breaker compartment.
