Engineering Application of Valve Monitoring System for Flexible HVDC

This article proposes an intelligent test method using modular multi-level flexible DC sub-modules and valve controls based on the testing and maintenance requirements of the flexible DC transmission system. A test system is designed, which includes an intelligent system control board module and an intelligent system monitoring host module. The control board module communicates with the sub-module and the valve control, sends the valve control signal to the sub-module, and sends the feedback signal of the sub-module to the valve control equipment. The communication unit of the monitoring host module communicates with the valve control. Through the automatic control module to issue data, the intelligent fault judgment module to judge faults, the intelligent waveform analysis module to judge faults, the data storage module to store test data, and the report generation module to automatically generate test reports, etc., the relevant tests of the flexible DC sub-module are completed. This system has been successfully applied to the Yucheng converter station of the Baihetan-Jiangsu flexible DC project. Practical engineering applications have shown that this system meets the needs of on-site acceptance testing, maintenance, and debugging, providing an effective testing method for improving the efficiency of converter valve engineering testing.
