Research on Modeling of Thermal Storage Electric Heating and Peaking Strategy in South Xinjiang Region
The rapid increase in electric heating demands in southern Xinjiang has led to a critical shortage of electricity during peak winter heating hours, posing significant risks to the stable operation of the power grid. Thermal storage electric heating, with its time-shifting and storage features, offers a viable solution by leveraging its peak-shifting capabilities. This study introduces a thermal storage electric heating load model and a peak optimization operation model utilizing load aggregation. By employing the cplex solver to tackle the issue, the study demonstrates the peak-shifting potential of thermal storage electric heating through a case study analysis. Compared to traditional direct-heat electric heating, thermal storage electric heating utilizes storage devices, enhancing system flexibility and regulation capacity to effectively address the electricity shortage for winter heating in southern Xinjiang. The results from the case study underscore the efficacy of the thermal storage electric heating peaking strategy, which not only meets residential heating needs but also provides substantial peak capacity.
