Investigation on High Gain and Circularly Polarised Two Port Array Based Dielectric Resonator Antenna for mm-wave 5G Applications
In the twenty-first century, human society relies heavily on wireless technology, whether for short-distance communication such as Bluetooth or long-distance communication such as deep space radio communications. Antennas, like the eyes and ears of a human being, are vital components of this wireless communication system. Due to the wide and dynamic variety of activities performed by antennas in the communication field the antenna technology has evolved continuously over the last several decades. In this paper, a two-port dielectric resonator-based antenna is designed and discussed. Array based antenna structure provides high gain feature i.e. more than 12.0 dBi within the operating band. Circular Polarization waves can be generated in the range of 30.05-30.68 GHz by excitation of dual unequal strips. Isolation is improved by more than 25 dB by mirroring the orientation of apertures. The efficiency of the designed antenna in the range of 29.78-30.75 GHz can be confirmed by comparing optimized results obtained from HFSS and CST. Broadside radiation features and good value of MIMO parameters confirms its applicability for mm-wave 5G communication system.
