Research on The Key Technology of Low Voltage Through of Direct Drive Wind Turbine
With the declining costs of power electronic components, there has been increasing global interest in permanent magnet direct drive fans equipped with full power converters. As wind farms expand in capacity, it becomes crucial for wind turbines to have robust fault ride-through capabilities. This study concentrates on direct drive synchronous wind turbines, constructing a dynamic mathematical model via MATLAB/Simulink to evaluate their fault ride-through performance. The analysis reveals that these turbines can sustain operation during faults at the wind farm's point of connection. Especially in the voltage drop of the power grid, the direct drive wind function provides certain reactive power support for the system. Effectively prevent the system voltage from falling excessively. Improved the stability of the system fault operation.
