Design of Microstrip Patch Antenna with S-Slits for Wireless Applications
In recent years, the micro-strip patch antenna with Defected Ground Structure (DGS) has been concentrated more for optimal performance in wireless communication scenarios. The integration of the DGS element serves a dual purpose: it effectively reduces the physical size of the antenna by approximately 20% in comparison to conventional designs, while simultaneously ensuring the resonant frequency of $4 \mathbf{~ G H z}$ is maintained with exceptional return loss performance -27.104 dB. The main feature of this design is to exhibit a broader bandwidth and improved radiation characteristics when compared with existing models. By including the DGS mechanism in this structure, this antenna achieves the miniaturization without compromising on resonant frequency, VSWR and return loss.
