Raspberry Pi-based Real-Time Health Monitoring and Alert System for Enhanced Patient Care
The advancement of technology has significantly impacted various sectors, including healthcare, leading to the development of Health Care Monitoring Systems. The paper presents a prototype utilizing a Raspberry Pi to track essential health parameters, including heartbeat rate, wetness, and fall detection, alongside providing medication reminders. This approach aims to reduce hospital readmissions and emergency visits by addressing health issues before they escalate. This also empowers patients with easy access to their health data through user-friendly mobile applications. The implementation involves configuring the Raspberry Pi with SPI and I2C communication protocols to interface with sensors. The system processes raw data from these sensors and uses built-in libraries to ensure accurate timing with a Real-Time Clock (RTC). Detected abnormalities trigger immediate alerts sent to caregivers via a Telegram bot, ensuring continuous monitoring and prompt responses. This innovative health monitoring system enhances patient care through real-time updates and offers an affordable and accessible solution for continuous health monitoring.
