An Energy Efficient Reconfigurable Polar Encoder for Next Generation Wireless Applications
This research study suggests an energy-efficient polar code developed utilizing the reconfigurable Radix-2rbased Polar Encoder architectures for the upcoming high-speed 5G systems. The proposed polar architectures offer improved speed, a smaller size, less power consumption, and superior performance. According to the Xilinx Vivado analysis, the power usage of the proposed Radix-2 polar encoder, Radix-4 polar encoder, and Reconfigurable Radix 2/4 polar encoder is decreased by $68 \%, 53 \%$, and $52 \%$ respectively compared to a standard polar encoder. Additionally, the area occupied by the proposed encoders is reduced by $58 \%, 33 \%$, and $25 \%$ when compared with a regular polar encoder. Furthermore, the propagation delay for these proposed encoders is lowered by approximately $66.40 \%, 32.44 \%$, and $32.5 \%$ respectively in comparison to that of a regular polar encoder. The proposed energy-efficient polar architectures can be best-suitable for 5G wireless communication.
