TRATAMENTO ENDODÔNTICO CONVENCIONAL: Relato de caso clínico

Endodontic therapy aims to decontaminate the root canals due to extrinsic and intrinsic factors, thus contributing to the health of the stomatognathic system. This work aims to report a case of endodontic treatment performed in an undergraduate, clinic using conventional instrumentation techniques. The patient selected for the case required intervention on tooth number 12, as it presented pulp necrosis and an extensive periapical lesion. The conventional technique, with properly performed manual instrumentation, significantly reduced the periapical lesion and kept the patient asymptomatic. The authors support, through literature, that despite the existence of innovative techniques today, a properly performed classical manual intervention yields favorable clinical and radiographic outcomes. Finally, the work highlights the importance of regular follow-up for patients undergoing endodontic therapy, ensuring the success of the treatment.
