Cáncer gástrico, últimos avances en el manejo; presentación de caso clínico
The current problem of advanced gastric cancer is its high morbimortality, it represents the fifth most frequent tumor and the fourth cause of death, surgical treatment determines a benefit in the survival of the patient, however, most tumors at the time of diagnosis are in advanced stages resulting ineffective surgical procedure, we present the case of an 82-year-old male patient, consulting for abdominal distention, unquantified weight loss and hyporexia. Endoscopy revealed a tumor lesion whose histological report was gastric adenocarcinoma, so a total gastrectomy and subsequent chemotherapy were performed, he presented a torpid evolution and finally died. Conclusion: multiple factors influence the genesis of the tumor; gastrectomy is still the standard of treatment in early stages but most cases are in advanced stages
