O EMPREGO DO CANABIDIOL NA TERAPÊUTICA DO TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA: REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA

Objective: To analyze the applicability of cannabidiol in the complementary treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Methods: The present work is characterized as a systematic literature review, which was carried out by searching for studies available in the Google Scholar, MedLine, PubMed and SciELO indexers. Results: 163 articles were found on the researched platforms, of which 19 were included for full reading and 11 were chosen to be part of the literature review. Conclusion: The effectiveness of cannabidiol as a complementary therapy for ASD is concluded, as long as it is indicated and monitored by a medical professional. However, it appears that drugs derived from Cannabis are not free from adverse effects, requiring assessment of their long-term safety profile.
