ESP Mesh Network for Security Application
In the era of Industry 4.0, the significance of data in driving operational efficiency is undeniable. Many Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are neither data ready nor have the capital to upgrade their existing machinery. This project addresses the need for a low-cost IoT ecosystem and a simplified architecture for retrofitting old machines with external sensors to enable data collection for cloud-based analysis and monitoring. The primary objectives are to establish a low-cost, reliable, and flexible solution that integrates automated connections, self-organized, and self-healing features for security applications. The developed solution involves implementing an ESP Mesh network using ESP32, ESP32-CAM, Arduino IDE, and a Telegram application. The results demonstrate the successful initialization and operation of the ESP Mesh network showcasing the nodes' ability to connect, communicate, and perform self-organizing as well as self-healing functions. The ESP-based security system outperforms similar existing systems and contributes to a low-cost IoT solution suitable for various IIoT and IoT applications.
