Combined EFIE-EFIE Formulation for PEC and Penetrable Object: Study of Reduced Planar Model Exposed to Dipole Antenna Radiation

The paper is on the use of an integral equation based formulation in high frequency dosimetry. The analysis is carried out on the use of a reduced planar models, exposed to radiation of dipole antenna positioned at various distances to planar model. The antenna is modeled as a thin equivalent strip based on the electric field integral equation (EFIE) formulation for perfect electrically conducting (PEC) body. The reduced planar body model is based on the EFIE formulation for the penetrable (dielectric) body. Both combined problems are solved by a method of moments (MoM) approach. The electric field determined from the EFIE-PEC part is utilized as input to the EFIE-dielectric part of the proposed model. The numerical results for the equivalent surface currents, and the induced electric field on reduced planar model surface are given. Also, the analysis of several electric field measures obtained at the averaging surface is carried out to assess the effects of different dipole positions when reduced models of varying thickness and width are used.
