Simulation of Operating Modes of Traction Substation Batteries in Operational DC Systems
The construction of digital traction substations implies the development and further application of systems for monitoring the technical condition of equipment. The introduction of modern monitoring systems makes it possible to ensure the transition to maintenance according to technical condition and the use of sparsely populated technologies, by reducing or eliminating a number of measurements and tests that can be carried out by diagnostic devices in automatic mode. The batteries of traction substations provide an increase in the reliability of the equipment when the external power supply is disconnected from the operational DC system. The transition to maintenance-free digital traction substations requires substantiation of the list of diagnostic indicators of battery operation to monitor their technical condition and predict the remaining life. To predict the remaining life, it is proposed to use battery models formed on the basis of the characteristics and load modes of operational DC systems, factory characteristics and battery performance. The developed model was verified based on measurements of the battery performance of a traction substation.
