Calculation of the Traction Induction Motor Performance Characteristics Using a Dynamic Computer Model

The method of traction asynchronous motor performance characteristics calculation using an induction motor dynamic computer model developed in this paper. The relevance of this paper is the usage of a dynamic computer model for getting induction motor performance characteristics in relative measurement units. This option may be useful for different electric motor comparisons. The purpose of this paper is to develop the performance characteristics calculation method and its application for induction squirrel-cage motor using a Matlab Simulink dynamic computer model. For this purpose, the authors use the theory of electric machines and electric drives and Matlab Simulink environment [20]. The novelty lies in the flaw enumeration of traditional modelling performance characteristics obtaining approach. A new method of power and load torque setting was developed. The result of the study is a representation of the quasi-steady stator current, load torque, and angle speed of the induction motor in relative units [21] with time-synchronized mechanic power. The practical significance of the paper is the calculated performance characteristics of the DTA-350M traction induction motor within its mechanical power range between 0,1 and 2,5 P<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2N</inf>.
