Implementation and Research of the Adaptive Law of Control of the Movement of the Hoist in the Working Area of the Overhead Crane

In this paper, we consider one of the potential algorithms for the operation of a bridge crane. During its functioning, load fluctuations can occur, which can lead to wear and damage of equipment, as well as create a risk for working personnel. To address this issue, we propose implementing an adaptive control system for the drive of the bridge crane. This system consists of several components, including a sigmoidal trajectory generator, adapter, identifier, and regulator. The sigmoidal trajectory generator creates the desired trajectory for the movement of the load. The adapter and identifier determine the changing parameters during the crane's operation. Based on this information, the regulator issues appropriate control actions. We conducted simulations using MATLAB Simulink with the “cart-pendulum” model to analyze the effectiveness of this approach in reducing fluctuations in the transported load. The results of the analysis show the benefits of the proposed method. This, in turn, extends the operational life of the electromechanical components of the overhead crane. The findings from this study can be applied in the design of a motor control system for overhead cranes, which will enhance safety and reduce maintenance and repair expenses.
