Development of a Mathematical Model of an Air Purification System for Industrial Premises Based on a Wet Single-Zone Electrostatic Precipitator

The problem of air pollution in industrial premises is considered. It seriously affects the health of workers and the environment. To solve this problem, effective ventilation and air filtration systems are used. When designing such systems, it is necessary to take into account the volume and nature of the room, the level of pollution, the system performance and the cleaning efficiency. A mathematical model has been developed that allows calculating the parameters of the room air cleaning system, taking into account the features of the room. A diagram and description of a wet single-zone electrostatic precipitator is presented, which is a promising device for air purification due to its high efficiency, continuous regeneration and low resistance to air flow. Its design requires a mathematical model that takes into account the influence of design and technological parameters on the operation of the device. A mathematical model of a wet single-zone electrostatic precipitator has been developed, which allows optimizing its design parameters to achieve maximum cleaning efficiency. When comparing experimental and calculated data on the efficiency of air purification by an electrostatic precipitator, it was found that the discrepancies are no more than 5%, which confirms the high accuracy of the model and its practical value for the design and improvement of electrostatic precipitators.
