Cell Stay Time Characteristics Exploration in Beyond 5G Small Cells
Cell Stay Time (CST) is the cornerstone for numerous new applications in new-generation networks such as mobility prediction, resource reservation strategy, handover prediction, and more. In the era of the current 5G and toward 6 G in the future, when these mentioned applications will become the key solutions to advance a smarter and automatic network system, CST’s role will undoubtedly become more and more crucial, and this leads to the demand of study it to understand and use it properly. Unfortunately, there is a lack of research focused on this problem. Realizing its importance, in this topic, we investigate several important characteristics of CST in terms of distribution, means, and variance relationship according to the change of the cell’s radius in the case of smaller cells. This topic aims to contribute a deeper view of CST, which can become materials for researchers to study and apply in their future work.
