Application of Power Transmission Lines with Backup Wire in Railway Power Supply Systems
The purpose of the research presented in this article was to develop digital models to define modes of electrical networks supplying traction substations (TS). It was assumed that part of the power line is equipped with backup wires (BW)., providing fast power supply recovery at emergence single-phase short circuits; with the disabled wire of a damaged phase being automatically replaced by a reserve one. Two designs of such power lines are considered: with one and three BWs. For comparison modeling of a feeding network with standard power line is done. Models were implemented in software complex Fazonord., version 5.3.3.0-2024. On their basis., a series of modes were determined., with loads created when five freight trains weighing 5000 tons move in even and odd directions. Calculations were carried out on basic frequency and frequencies of canonical higher harmonics: 3., 5., 7… 39. Also thermal processes modeling was done and time dependencies of heating temperatures of power line wires were built. For energy efficiency analysis active power losses in power lines were calculated. To estimate safety conditions calculations of electromagnetic fields of power lines were carried out. Developed digital models can be used in practice when choosing means to improve the reliability of power supply to AC traction substations.
