Anonymization-Based Method for Privacy-Preservation of Users in Internet Services
Internet services collect user’s profiling data with the aim of improving user experience in terms of personalization and targeted advertising. However, all available data is often collected, although this does not necessarily result in improvement of the service from the user’s point of view, so the question of the justification of collecting all the available data about the user arises. Considering that different Internet platforms collect numerous unnecessary data from users, we focused mostly on accessibility dataset, and we performed some analysis on generalization of parameters from location dataset as well. We classified their parameters according to their data sensitivity. This categorization helps anonymization method to be more efficient, by treating first the most sensitive data about the users. Therefore, in this paper we will present a method of anonymizing sensitive data from accessibility dataset by categorizing disabilities of people in some predefined groups. As conclusion, the main aim of the anonymization method relies on increasing privacy issues of users when sharing their data with various Internet services.
