A 128Gb/s Hybrid DAC-Based PAM-4 Transmitter with Constant 1.2Vppd Output Swing over PVT in 8nm FinFET

A 128Gb/s hybrid DAC-based PAM-4 transmitter is presented. Fabricated in an 8nm FinFET process, it achieves a high SNDR of 40.86 dB, and consistently maintains a 1.2 Vppd output swing and eye opening across PVT by using a tracking loop with 141 fsrms RJ, 0.99 RLM, and 1.77 pJ/b efficiency.
