Ring Oscillator DTCO using Machine Learning approach based on TCAD

Machine learning is becoming a vital part of the semiconductor industry and is of special interest for technology development. This paper combines single device machine learning models based on TCAD simulations with analytic calculations to predict ring oscillator performance metrics. A wide range of input parameter space and an optimizer allow to find various process, layout and technology definitions matching the ring oscillator as well as single device targets within seconds.

Abstract

Machine learning is becoming a vital part of the semiconductor industry and is of special interest for technology development. This paper combines single device machine learning models based on TCAD simulations with analytic calculations to predict ring oscillator performance metrics. A wide range of input parameter space and an optimizer allow to find various process, layout and technology definitions matching the ring oscillator as well as single device targets within seconds.
